MARGA
I have been a Spanish teacher since 2009, and I have taught my native language and culture to students from all over the world.
From 2017 to 2019 I lived in the United States, teaching Spanish to American students at Mississippi College, a university in the US. As a teacher, one of my greatest passions is to empower my students to find their own authentic voices.
I find joy in not only teaching the grammatical rules of the language and aspects of Spanish culture, but also in giving you the support you need to use your Spanish the way you want to use it!
MARÍA LUISA
My name is María Luisa. I live in Salamanca, Spain: a beautiful town close to Madrid with a lot of history.
From 2018 to 2022 I collaborated with Johns Hopkins University as a teacher and as coordinator of the study abroad program in the city of Salamanca.

No puedo recomendar lo suficiente a las profesoras Marga y María Luisa de «My Spanish Club» en Salamanca. Pasé 4 días extraordinarios en Salamanca con ellos la semana pasada y el tiempo que pasamos juntos dejó una vívida impresión no solo de su hermosa ciudad de Salamanca sino también del campo circundante. Pasamos 3 días en Salamanca en aulas «no tradicionales», caminando por las calles, visitando catedrales y museos, tomando café en una hermosa cafetería histórica en la Plaza Mayor y comiendo churros y chocolate en una la legendaria chocolatería, Valor. Están conectados con la ciudad de una manera especial que les permite acceder a personas y lugares que lo convierten en un recorrido muy íntimo por su ciudad. El cuarto día organizaron un viaje que nos llevó a las montañas al sur de la ciudad, a una zona conocida como La Sierra de Francia, donde hay hermosos pueblecitos que están considerados como algunos de los más bonitos de España, y no decepcionaron. Visitamos La Peña de Francia, La Alberca, Mogarraz, Las Casas del Conde y San Martín del Castañar. Nunca nos sentamos y tuvimos una lección formal durante los cuatro días, pero Marga y María Luisa me hablaron solo en español y me ofrecieron correcciones apropiadas o consejos sobre mi gramática o pronunciación y lograron sumergirme en el idioma, la cultura y el país en una manera que era mucho más efectiva que el tiempo pasado en un aula en una escuela. Por encima de todo, ambos son personas geniales, divertidas, curiosas e inteligentes que obviamente aman lo que hacen e hicieron que la experiencia fuera pura alegría por el tiempo que pasamos juntos. No puedo agradecerles lo suficiente y espero seguir en contacto y, con suerte, volver a encontrarnos en España en un futuro no muy lejano.
